I did not start selling wine because I wanted to become a bottle shop. I started because I was delivering flowers to resort villas in 2015 and noticing something. The flowers would arrive, the concierge would place them on the table, the guest would smile, take a photo, and then wander off. The flowers were nice. But they did not give the guest anything to do right now. Wine changes that. A bottle of white wine next to a vase of roses turns "that is pretty, thank you" into "open the wine, pour two glasses, sit on the terrace, read the card together." The flowers are the scenery. The wine is the activity. I learned this from watching how guests at Kayumanis Nusa Dua responded to deliveries that had both versus deliveries that had only flowers. The ones with wine got opened immediately. The ones without sat on the table until the guest unpacked. Sometimes that was hours. Sometimes the guest did not even notice until housekeeping pointed it out. A $34.95 bottle of wine is the difference between a gift that waits and a gift that starts the evening.

The pattern I see in orders is this. Someone buys flowers first. They get to the checkout. Then they notice the wine add-on. They hesitate. About three in ten add the wine. But the ones who do almost always add wine again on their next order. It becomes part of the gift. I tracked this through 2024 and the repeat rate for customers who added wine at least once was nearly double the repeat rate for flower-only buyers. I think the reason is simple. Kadek handles the delivery logistics. For wine specifically, timing matters more than it does for flowers. Flowers are fine waiting on a table for three hours. Wine in Bali heat needs to arrive close to when the recipient will be there. If you know the check-in time or arrival window, include it in your order notes and Kadek will aim for that window. For resort deliveries, the hotel refrigerates the bottle until the guest is ready. The Wine Itself
This is a quality Indonesian white wine. Clean, light-bodied, with citrus and tropical fruit notes suited to the Bali climate. The bottle arrives sealed with a black foil cap.
