Twenty-five to thirty red roses packed into a heart-shaped foam base with white spray chrysanthemums forming the border. Every rose trimmed to the same stem length so the surface reads flat and uniform. The foam is cut in a single pass because corrections show once the flowers go in. Sits flat on a table, not in a vase. Designed to be seen from above, which is why it photographs better from a phone held overhead than any other product in the collection. Sixtieth most popular Bali-wide but sixth to Batu Bolong where the expat market orders it for proposals, anniversaries, and Valentine's Day. The order notes on rose hearts are longer and more personal than anything else we receive. $85 USD, same day delivery across Bali, seven days a week. Timed delivery available for proposals and surprises.

Description

Twenty-five to thirty red roses packed into a heart-shaped foam base with white spray chrysanthemums forming the border. It sits flat on a table, not in a vase or a pot. The shape is the arrangement. This is the most romantic product we sell, the most roses in any single product, and the highest-priced fresh flower item in the collection at $85.00 USD.

$85.00 USD. Same day delivery, seven days a week, across all Bali locations including Seminyak, Canggu, Kuta, Ubud, Denpasar and Nusa Dua. Delivered as shown, ready to display.

What's Inside

The base is floral foam cut into a heart shape, roughly the width of two open hands side by side. Red roses fill the interior completely, pushed into the foam in tight rows with no gaps between blooms. The roses sit at the same height. The result is a flat, uniform surface of red. You're looking down at a solid field of rose heads.

Around the outer edge, small white spray chrysanthemums are packed tightly to form the heart's border. They create a clean white line that defines the shape against the red. Behind the white chrysanthemums, a thin line of green foliage finishes the edge. A red ribbon sits at the top of the heart.

The arrangement is designed to be seen from above. It sits flat on a table, a counter, a bed, a desk. It has no height to speak of. Every other arrangement in our collection builds upward. This one builds outward in a single plane.

How a Heart Gets Built

Cutting foam into a heart shape sounds simple. It is not. Foam is soft and crumbles at the edges if you cut too fast or use a blade that drags. The curves of a heart, especially the two rounded lobes at the top and the point at the bottom, need a sharp knife moved slowly in a single pass. A second pass along the same line tears the surface. If the foam breaks at the point of the heart, the whole piece is ruined because that's the sharpest angle and the weakest section.

Once the foam is cut and soaked, the roses go in starting from the outer edge and working inward. Each stem is trimmed to the same length so every bloom sits at the same height. A rose that sits even half a centimetre higher than the ones around it breaks the flat surface and the heart reads as lumpy rather than smooth. The white chrysanthemums go in last, pushed into the outermost ring to frame the red. Their smaller heads fit the curves better than roses would, which is why they work as a border flower.

Ay Ayu Owner, Sunny Florist Bali

"I ruined four foam blocks learning to cut hearts. The first two crumbled at the bottom point because I was cutting too quickly. The third broke apart when I tried to carve the dip between the two top curves. That dip is the hardest part. The gap between the lobes has to be smooth and even or the heart looks like two circles pushed together instead of one shape. The fourth one I cut slowly, one pass, no corrections, and it held. I still cut hearts the same way now. One pass. If the blade goes wrong, I start again with a new block rather than trying to fix it. You cannot patch foam. Every repair shows once the flowers are in because the stems sit at different depths where the surface has been rebuilt."

Why Twenty-Five Roses Cost $85

At $85.00 USD, the Rose Heart is double the price of most products in our collection. The cost is almost entirely in the roses. A single red rose at wholesale in Bali costs more than any other cut flower per stem. Twenty-five to thirty of them in one arrangement means the raw material cost is high before any labour begins. The foam cutting, the precise stem trimming, the row-by-row placement, and the chrysanthemum border add time that a standard arrangement doesn't require.

For comparison, our 6 Red Rose Arrangement uses six roses and costs $35. Our 12 Pink Roses uses twelve and costs $38. This product uses more than double the roses of either and adds the shaped foam work and the chrysanthemum border on top. The price reflects the materials and the labour, and it's still significantly less than what a shaped rose heart costs from a florist in Singapore, Sydney, or Bangkok.

Who Sends a Rose Heart

This product ranks sixtieth Bali-wide but sixth to Batu Bolong specifically, where most orders come from the expat community. The gap between those two numbers tells you something about the buyer. The Rose Heart is not a volume product. It sells to a specific person sending a specific message on a specific day.

Valentine's Day is the obvious peak. Anniversaries run second. Proposals come third, and those orders usually include a note asking Kadek to deliver at a particular time so it's waiting on the table when the partner walks in. The heart shape removes all ambiguity about the intention. Nobody sends a rose heart to a colleague or a friend. The shape does the talking before the card is read.

Ay Ayu Owner, Sunny Florist Bali

"The Batu Bolong orders for rose hearts are almost always men ordering for women. I can tell because the order notes read differently from the other products. On a regular bouquet the note might say 'happy birthday' or 'thank you.' On a rose heart the notes are longer. Personal. Sometimes a full paragraph. One customer wrote three sentences in Indonesian that he'd clearly run through a translator and asked me to check the grammar before writing it on the card. I fixed two words and wrote it out for him. He ordered again a month later with another paragraph. The rose heart attracts people who have something specific to say and want the shape of the arrangement to match the weight of what they're saying."

Flat Arrangements and Table Space

Because the Rose Heart sits flat, it takes up table surface rather than vertical space. It works on a dining table, a coffee table, a bed, or a bathroom counter. It doesn't work on a narrow shelf or a windowsill. The width is roughly 30 to 35 centimetres across. Plan for that footprint when choosing where to display it.

The flat design also means it photographs well from above. A phone held over the arrangement captures the full heart shape cleanly. Every other product in the collection is designed to be seen from the front. This one is designed to be seen from the top. That top-down quality makes it the most shared product on social media among everything we sell.

Care

Top up the foam with water daily. Pour slowly into the base at the edge, not over the rose heads. The foam holds moisture but it dries faster than a standard pot arrangement because of the flat, wide shape exposing more surface area. The roses will peak around day two or three and hold through day five. The white chrysanthemum border will outlast the roses by several days. As individual roses finish, remove them gently to keep the shape clean rather than letting spent blooms sit among fresh ones.
