What's Inside

Three red roses, partially open with the centres still coiled tight. Classic red. The shade that means roses in every culture on earth. Rose foliage fills behind and around the blooms with dark green leaves. The stems are long, extending well below the paper, and visible from the bottom of the wrap.

The wrap is pink tissue paper formed into a cone and gathered with a tie at the waist. The pink is a warm magenta, the same family as the wrap on our 3 Roses + Chocolates. It sits against the red roses without clashing because pink and red share the same base on the colour wheel.

Ayu folds the tissue into a cone that sits wide enough at the top to frame the blooms but tight enough at the waist to hold the stems in position. The angle of the cone matters. Too wide and the roses fall apart inside and land flat when the recipient opens the wrap. Too narrow and the blooms press against each other and bruise the outer petals. She tested the fold over dozens of deliveries in the first year until she found the angle where the roses sit upright in the paper without touching. Care

Unwrap and trim the stems at an angle. Place in a narrow vase with fresh water. Three roses look best in a slim vase where the stems hold each other upright. A wide vase will make them lean and separate. Change the water every two days. The roses will open further over three days and hold through day four or five.
