Outside Style
Hello Bali Florist friends, I am Simone Barter creator of style.life.home, interior and prop stylist living in Noosa, Queensland, Australia. Not only do I love styling beautiful homes for people to live in and enjoy each day, I also style pages of Australian magazines for everyone to enjoy, along with my passion to bring a room together I love blogging about interiors and all the ‘on trends’, colour pallets and different decor styles, it is creativity with words. I will be bringing you styling blog posts for you to get inspired to bring into your homes and spaces.
I believe there is no place like home, big or small you can bring style into any space. And like our indoors we think the same way with our out doors. Embracing nature with our out door living, with patios, pool deck areas, secret gardens, out door entertaining furniture, out door kitchens and often with our sunny climate this area is considered as part of our ‘living’ areas. The out doors areas instantly make any occasion casual and fun with the back drop of greenery and flowers gives the sense of calm. Creating your out door space can be as easy as extending your roof line by contracting a builder and landscaper to build your dream area.
Over the years, out door style has become more of a way to give extra value to our homes and a way to continue our interior style and extent it out. It reflects our life style, lunches by the pool and dinners under stars. I love inspiring homes with heart, adding your personal touch on a trend so you can enjoy your life style. Being out side in our climate is where we live the most enjoying the cool summer breeze and long lunches. Having a clear vision one how your outdoor area will look is all about seeking some inspirational images, pinterest is your biggest feast of visual delight and over on style.life.home pinterst I have create a board that is all about‘outdoor style’, see HERE
When styling you’re out door space, and like any space, you will need one major
key element let’s say the HERO in the area. It can be many options from a
spacious timber table, water feature, stunning daybed, bold coloured furniture
even a pendant light. Then when you are connecting all of your other elements
that are just as important think of adding potted plants, concrete side table,
different shaped chairs around the table, dressing up the table with fresh
flowers that match back with your colour palette. Having a pride of place
outside is more often situated around the pool area, this is best spot if you
have young children. Keeping an eye on the play time plus chatting with friends
is just the perfect way to unwind, so this can also be thought about when
designing your space.
Other fabulous styling and practical ideas to add into your outdoor living is
storage, from adding a large basket to keep towels or throw blankets in, an old
ladder so you can hang the towel up on, custom make out door buffet to place
extra kitchen items in or kids playing equipment even a hidden bar fridge is a
gem to add. Plus having storage allows you to keep everything out in the area
with the added bonus of having everything neat and clean.
